I don’t think NDIBK01 assays will cause a re-rate. The grades are likely to be sub economic. However the results from this hole will be telling, because we will be able to tell from the geochemistry what type of deposit we are chasing (IOCG or SEDEX) and this has implications on value for those willing to dig a bit deeper than the headlines.
There will be a release of geophysics from other tenements soon. I’m not expecting this to move the dial, because if the data showed any no brainer targets then they would have rushed the interpretation and release. Let’s hope there’s no significant work done in Peru, we need our cash to advance Frewena which is our best prospect by a clear margin.
The re-rate will come if/when the drill hits mineralisation at Mt Lamb. It will take up to a month to drill each hole, so I expect this to be a slow process with perhaps 7 to 10 holes drilled this year. The wait is painful, but it doesn’t change the investment case. In fact, I hope some weak hands get restless and sell off so that I can top up at a lower price just before a discovery.
In the mean time, Newcrest will have to report Fangtooth results in April. If they have made a discovery, it will be proof of concept for the East Tennant and that should provide some share price support for all the ET explorers. Similarly, MDI are drilling Crosswinds in April/May and any success there will be supportive for ICG given that our Roadhouse target is only a few hundred metres away and potentially part of the same system as Crosswinds.
