I agree with Dodgy Knees on the announcement.
I believe we'll be paying the sub contractor 800K, leaving us 1Mill USD.
Maybe the mob going out tomorrow night in Perth can get some clarification from Tony D or someone else.
The post on Linkedin from Tony Lewis was pretty exciting. He's definitely pumped.
Good day !!

"Yes to Edge AI!
BrainChip has racked up an impressive number of beyond state of the art models for edge inference. These models are based on our own TENNs family of models. hashtag#TENNS are a kind of State-Space Model recently popularized by hashtag#Mamba. We have been working on our variant for a number of year and have already created hardware to run our models.

I am constantly shocked and amazed to see so many incredible results across a broad array of use-cases.

We are at a defining moment in AI and I am proud to be working with an incredible team making it happen at hashtag#BrainChip

Usually, when companies talk about pushing the boundaries of PPA--- Performance, Power and Area (or cost) they can nudge one of these metrics at the cost of another. We are seemingly riding along a Pareto Frontier and "no company shall pass" that frontier... until now.

With TENN+Akida we are seen remarkable performance and power and model size reduction when compared to conventional CNN model. I think we might be able to schedule a funeral for CNN models for temporal processing.

Why does this matter to anyone? AI everywhere is a solution to climbing energy usage of cloud computing, latency, and expensive back-end inference.

I am guess 80% of LLM tasks can be pushed to the edge right now and with TENNS+Akida, LLM, audio signal processing and more can be pushed into inexpensive chips.

Incredible levels of intelligence at the edge is now possible at very low cost of ownership.

If you are highly skilled in Edge AI, understand building networks from scratch, have a great positive attitude and like working in a highly collaborative atmosphere, consider working for us in R&D here in sunny Southern California. Lets make this happen together!"
I will ask today :) ...Cheers

I have stayed away off this site due to its bias, but anyone here that seriously think there will be an announcement prior to Christmas on the iword of who is running this company Is delirious. Why would anyone sell shares in their company if they knew in the next 4 weeks that a deal would fall. Hehir has constantly strung shareholders along and continues to do it.You all had your chance to vote him out last AGM but no like lemmings you followed his words, Remember them IMMINENT…… what have we got FKN not a word since. Lemmings that what I called you bunch.IWork for one of the largest worldwide companies and today I had to resort to send a email to one of our General Managers as they were looking at integrating AI into our company. I forwarded him Brainchips website link In the hope of achieving something. It only takes 200 signatures from shareholders to instigate a extraordinary AGM. If Christmas hits and nothing announced.I suggest as a shareholder you must think TIME TO GO HEHIR. You missed your chance last AGM don’t make the same mistake. Don’t wait till there is no money left in the bank account get rid of them.

Hi @Taproot,

The penny is still dropping for me on the significance of Tony Lewis's post. Especially the part where he states "Usually, when companies talk about pushing the boundaries of PPA--- Performance, Power and Area (or cost) they can nudge one of these metrics at the cost of another. We are seemingly riding along a Pareto Frontier and "no company shall pass" that frontier... until now."

The statement implies that until now you could only move along the frontier but couldn't surpass it (i.e., achieve improvements in all metrics without trade-offs). Something typically considered impossible within conventional design paradigms.

We are talking about an extraordinary achievement here IMO! A breakthrough in technology! The terms "transformative" and "highly disruptive" leap to mind.

You would have to think that such a breakthrough could create a monopoly or significant competitive advantage for us. It's possible that it could dominate the market and create value in ways that competitors simply cannot match.

Maybe some of the tech titans out there don't want to shine a light on BrainChip incase we put them out of business?

I'm very happy about the AF contract but caution against getting too carried away with it, or statements by Brainchip people about creating new paradigms. I am cautiously optimistic (after an 8 year wait) but will not get really excited until we see a commercial (i.e. non-Government) contract involving a large scale deployment of a product with Akida Inside...........

So I was just thinking now AFRL has jumped on board with this contract, it should provide a massive incentive for the other companies who've been waiting in the wings to sign on that dotted line. Remember when Sean said he was talking regularly with "C-suite" executives at the some of the biggest tech companies in the world.

It reminds me of an analogy Coby Hannoch from Weebit uses to describe the psychology of being the first to try something new. He likens it to the early days of bungee jumping. No one wants to be the first to take the leap, but once someone does, everyone else wants to follow suit.

Which makes me think that now everyone will be like...

We are currently at just under 2 million shares. However, trading will continue for another 5.5 hours.
The US has just opened, so only 100k yet.
Traegate trades from 08:00 to 22:00, which is a very long time. When we have half-time, USA is added and we close virtually at the same time.
EU 2,5M
US 300k

So does this mean Raytheon is the company we are entering into the subcontractor agreement with? That list of Brainchips engagements really does have some heavyweights

This is not a complaint, more of a fascination. Following what can only be interpreted as a positive announcement this happens. Very odd to me. I actually feel sorry for all those sellers but each to their own I guess

Yes, I think so.

I stole this over at the cxxxxx.

Apparently the down rampers are blaring like a hungry baby, but I have blocked them, so can't read them but see the answers, of which some of them are quite funny.

Don’t know how IRAD are but Tony definitely works for RTX?

Courtesy of Chat GPT (I just asked what company IRAD would refer to, no prompting as it relates to defense):
IRAD stands for Independent Research and Development. It refers to the funding and activities that a company undertakes, often in the defense or aerospace sectors, to pursue innovative research and development projects without direct customer funding. The goal is to develop new technologies, products, or capabilities that may later be offered to customers, such as governments or private-sector clients.

Key aspects of IRAD include:

1. Self-Initiated: Unlike contract R&D, IRAD projects are chosen and managed internally by the company.

2. Cost Recovery: In industries like defense, companies may be able to recover some of the IRAD costs through overhead rates on contracts with government agencies (e.g., in the U.S., through agreements with the Department of Defense).

3. Innovation Driver: IRAD encourages companies to explore emerging technologies or improve existing systems, which can give them a competitive edge.

4. Strategic Importance: Projects often align with future market opportunities or anticipated needs in areas like national security, space exploration, or advanced manufacturing.

For example, a defense contractor might use IRAD to develop a prototype for a new missile system in anticipation of future military procurement programs.

While the I in IRAD indeed mostly seems to stand for “Independent”, I also found a case where IRAD is understood to mean “Internal R&D”:

When you revisit the BRN ASX announcement, you will find the IRAD Tom M. from RTX (Raytheon) referred to is actually there in plain sight - just not as an acronym:

“… as part of an internal research and development initiative.” 😊

I think the subcontractor is ISL

https://brainchip.com/information-systems-labs-early-access-program/

Information Systems Labs Joins BrainChip Early Access Program

Laguna Hills, Calif. – January 9, 2022 – BrainChip Holdings Ltd (ASX: BRN, OTCQX: BRCHF, ADR: BCHPY), a leading provider of ultra-low power, high performance artificial intelligence technology and the world’s first commercial producer of neuromorphic AI chips and IP, today announced that Information Systems Laboratories, Inc. (ISL) is developing an AI-based radar research solution for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) based on its Akida™ neural networking processor.

ISL is an employee-owned technology development corporation that performs expert research and complex analysis, software and systems engineering, advanced hardware design and development, and high-quality specialty fabrication for a variety of customers worldwide.

ISL specializes in the areas of advanced signal processing, space exploration, undersea technologies, surveillance and tracking, cyber security, advanced radar systems, and energy independence. As a member of BrainChip’s Early Access Program, ISL will be able to evaluate boards with the Akida device, software and hardware support and dedicated engineering resources.

“As part of BrainChip’s EAP, we’ve had the opportunity to evaluate firsthand the capabilities that Akida provides to the AI ecosystem,” said Jamie Bergin, Senior VP, Manager of Research, Development and Engineering Solutions Division at ISL
.

ISL didn’t make my subcontractor shortlist, as they don’t fall into the category of being “a multinational aerospace and defense customer”…

Well I suppose it's totally inconsequential that Alf Kuchenbuch likes Georges Massing's LinkedIn post on Mercedes DRIVE PILOT winning “The Golden Steering Wheel 2024“ award. Alf must have accidentally pressed the "clapping hands" button. He is a pretty tall bloke afterall and he probably has pretty big fingers. And Georges Massing probably said to himself "Who is this guy Alf and why is he congratulating me for my post about DRIVE PILOT? I don't know him from a bar of soap." Oh well. Going back to bed now. 😝
