Not unless he is the MD. If there is a spill ALL directors are terminated except the MD. As I've said before, he will likely keep his role as CEO for the meantime but will lose his board seat - unless he's been appointed MD........which appears to be the case.
Playing Devil's Advocate .... Has anyone ever considered the possibility, that our CEO Sean H may actually welcome a second strike / spill so as to potentially replace current non executive directors with those of his own liking ???

Tim Cook on Generative AI: 'We Have Advantages That Will Differentiate Us'

During today’s earnings call covering the second fiscal quarter of 2024, Apple CEO Tim Cook again spoke about Apple’s work on generative AI. He said that Apple has “advantages” that will “differentiate” the company in the era of AI, and some “very exciting things” will be shared with customers in the near future.

We continue to feel very bullish about our opportunity in generative AI. We are making significant investments and we’re looking forward to sharing some very exciting things with our customers soon.

We believe in the transformative power and promise of AI and we believe we have advantages that will differentiate us in this new era, including Apple’s unique combination of seamless hardware, software and services integration, groundbreaking Apple silicon with our industry leading neural engines, and our unwavering focus on privacy, which underpins everything we create.

Rumors have suggested that Apple’s first AI features are designed to run on-device rather than contacting a cloud service, which would make Apple’s AI much more private and secure than an online AI option. Apple’s plan to have generative AI available on-device will require significant CPU and GPU power, and Apple is planning to focus on AI with the upcoming M4 chip.

We could see the M4 chip as soon as next week in new iPad Pro models, with Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman indicating last weekend that there is a chance Apple will unveil the chip in the iPad Pro models.

I'm surprised that you didn't think or have considered Sean H of ever having fully considered all the ramifications /outcomes surrounding a Second Strike scenario.

Maybe an easy way for him to rid older staff that were at the company before him.

Directors would be chosen by a vote of shareholders, not by the CEO's whim.......

Some people really have nothing better to do than turn a simple personal decision into a science... okay, I think it went something like this...

Sean: "Hey Rob, how are you? Everything okay? You look a bit pale."

Rob: "Yeah, good, good. So, uh... here's my resignation."

Sean: "Oh no, really? That's just not great... the folks at TSE will go crazy... don't you want to reconsider?"

Rob: "Yeah, I know, I feel sorry for all of them... except the bashers there... but I don't want a second strike... and besides, I have personal reasons... also because of TSE."

Sean: "Yeah, I understand TSE means a lot to you."

Rob: "Yes, that's why I deleted my accounts everywhere first so I can recover."

Sean: "Yeah, I really can... Oh, hello Nandan... what are you doing here?"

Nandan: "Here's my resignation... am I disturbing something?"

Sean: "holy….coooow…Oh, f... This is just... screw it. Give me a break come on!!!!!!"

No financial advice DYOR

Don’t believe rzv2h is us, dio has had a look a few times from memory. I’d love to know what Renesas have up their sleeve, certainly seems like they’ve shelved us atm?
There’s no way they shelved us they spent way too much money, there at the point where customers would be trialing engineering samples with our IP, revenue shouldn’t be too far off from them

Rob seems like a very nice guy. I liked him. Sad to see him go. Hoping that his replacement is equally likeable, and more importantly can get us some IP deals!
