Totally unrelated but my favourite quote is
"Politian's and Diapers must be changed often, and for the same reason" Mark Twain.
My late father in law had one rule which he applied to voting in State and Federal elections. "Never vote to have the same political party at both levels at the same time. Their inability to agree limits the damage they can do." FF

On a positive note though - this video is focussing on 5G network and data centre applications.

And while the SynQuacer SC2A11 isn't us, Brainchip has mentioned previously that Akida can be combined with this processor by system developers and OEM's....so hopefully they go hand in hand...

Today, BrainChip told shareholders the Akida product will be offered to customers by Socionext through the Japanese company’s AI platform.

Moreover, the product goes hand-in-hand with Socionext’s SynQuacer Multi-Core Processor. BrainChip’s Akida and Socionext’s SynQuacer can be combined to create a high-speed, high-density, low-power video and imaging analysis system.

BrainChip said the integrated products can be used in surveillance systems, live streams, and other applications to analyse, recognise, and segment sections of videos and photos.

This all falls under the umbrella of “edge” computing, which is the latest era of technology. Rather than relying on cloud-based tech which needs to connect to a far-away server to transmit information, edge tech does all of the processing in-house
.

If you keep this up, the ogre will be unemployed.

Hi Rocket
The timeline does fit:

1. 23.3.2020 - Socionext & Brainchip announce AKIDA to be made available with SynQuacer

2. Early 2021 Socionext release the video (your over a year ago) at the time of releasing the video they have been working with Anil Mankar
and crew on the design modifications to the engineering AKD1000 prior to handing it off to TSMC for production.

3. August, 2021 Socionext at trade show demonstrating AKD1000 and SynQuacer.

4. August, 2021 Brainchip has the commercial AKD1000 for testing from TSMC via Socionext.

5. The SynQuacer AKD1000 combo is not aimed at the retail consumer market but for the commercial market. Thus long marketing, sales and implementation lead times.

My favourite quote that I use often is from Bullet Tooth Tony from the movie 'Snatch':
'Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity'.

This is also a useful principle when investing as well when you see retail panic, worry about short term price etc. Markets are a collective of predictable stupidity.

So the Socionext/Hailo deal was 2 months after the Socionext/BrainChip deal. At that time Akida was yet to reach full maturity, so maybe Hailo had an oven-ready chip?

Hi all
The following link takes you to a series of archived articles authored by MegaChips the most recent of which is from 2020. Funnily enough it is all about MegaChips Smart-doorbell/security solutions and the problems it resolves.

As I have said my personal strength is memory for narrative and on this occasion I recall that in 2019 the former CEO Mr. Dinardo first started to speak about the opportunity for AKIDA in the Smart-doorbell market.

Put simply the problem MegaChip is attempting to solve is the bandwidth and wifi connectivity problems associated with the rapid adoption of Smarthome technology not envisage when the cabling and building of cities and homes originally took place.

The huge advantage AKIDA technology brings is making the endpoint smart so that many functions can be performed on device without the need to further congest overloaded embedded infrastructure.

It should be noted that Rob Lincourt of DELL Technologies spoke to the advantage to bandwidth congestion of being able to as he put it of doing a little bit of the processing at the endpoint and only sending relevant Meta data.

In my opinion the continuing discussion and reference to doorbells by the former CEO Mr. Dinardo, Peter van der Made, Anil Mankar and Rob Telson has to be the smoke of a fire somewhere.

Could it be MegaChips????

My opinion only DYOR

Hi FF, yes I also remember the interview with Louis Dinardo. It suggests to me that the MegaChips deal had a long gestation before it appeared as an announcement. Makes you wonder what else is also in the works. I believe at this point patience is the most important virtue for shareholders but I have no doubt that with that patience will come rich rewards in due course. :)

Yes I saw that slide but at that time the Hailo chip was an accelerator pure and simple. It was however in the market place and commercially available.

I know this because they did not allow access to the spec sheet on their website but after an obsessive amount of research I found it on a customers website as part of their customers product description. It also was using single digit watts of power. I cannot now recall the customers name.

@SERA2g This may be of interest.......I too have my suspicions about NXP and this is another Dot.........I think this "like" by Rob Telson means something not nothing.......

Not sure if this has been posted - NXP wireless gaming headphones. Certainly has a lot of what I have come to know as "BrainChip terms"

NXH3670: Ultra-low Power, Low Latency Audio for Wireless Gaming Headphone

1647578470905.png

Overview

The NxH3670 constitutes a highly integrated, single-chip ultra-low-power 2.4 GHz wireless transceiver with embedded MCU (Integrated Arm® Cortex®-M0 processor), targeted at wireless audio streaming for gaming headphones, delivering low latency audio and ultra-low power consumption.
The NxH3670 runs a proprietary wireless audio streaming protocol which has been optimized for wireless gaming headset applications, providing high-quality forward audio streaming at low latency (<20ms) combined with a simultaneous voice microphone backchannel. Additionally, a wireless bidirectional data channel is available.
While primarily designed for headsets, this solution can also enable wireless audio streaming for household and office devices like soundbars, wireless speakers, wireless Subwoofers and more.
Overall, the NxH3670 delivers a small form factor with long battery life while reducing overall weight and size.

This is an old article (23rd Dec 2021) but a good one to read up on as we venture through 2022:

"Expect more companies to realise the benefits of migrating from cloud to edge AI in 2022."

"We predict more startups will prove the world doesn’t have to rely on big tech in 2022."

Absolutely amazing. I was thinking of getting involved (to buy) in the closing auction, but the numbers have blown me away. Numerous multimillion dollar single bids on both sides of the ledger. Unbelievable!

More than likely a broker cross trade but it's still nice to see this sort of activity as it has been a while and the price will at least close at a more reasonable figure.

I take my previous comment back as most of the trades do not have the appropriate codes for a cross trade so starting to get a bit excited.
