I reckon the Slope of enlightenment will be a hockey stick.
I totally agree @Diogenese. I have been wondering where Akida was at WRT the hype cycle and I had to draw the conclusion it is everywhere to the left of the Slope of Enlightenment.

Akida itself must be inching on to the Slope Of Enlightenment, down at the hook of what will indeed become a hockey stick.

You’d have to be living under a big rock to know nothing of Akida now. But I accept there are many living under huge rocks and many luddites out there, supplemented by many who just don‘t know how good Akida can be to their ANYTHING. Yes WANKAs are still everywhere. Most businesses will not survive if they remain WANKAs for much longer though.

And as Akida will be ubiquitous, it will always have products and reach into all parts of the hype cycle, forever feeding momentum into BrainChip’s share price growth. What an amazing future!

It truly will be exciting times, leading to VERY long term exponential growth, when some products using Akida do start getting out into the public domain.

All I can say is

“We’re gunna need a BIGGER iceberg”
I've thought about this a couple of times lately. The end result of my thoughts was we're going to need a few continents. 🗺️

Hi Perhaps,

I was a little distracted and went down the Xavier rabbit hole following Fn 2.

However, as you can see, the discussion re Fig. 5 from my previous response applies to Orin. It seems nvidia wouldn't know a spike if they sat on one. They are using 16-bit or 32-bit weights and activations, with their 2-out-of-4 zero cancellation with associated values for their CNN on a ...
“It seems nvidia wouldn't know a spike if they sat on one” - very witty @Diogenese

I had the same thoughts when I read 16 and 32-bit activations and weighting’s!

The second reply is also intriguing.

Is the leg graphic implying Akida is getting a leg in?

Do the game console hint at something the 1,000 👀 have been discussing already?

Gaming is a good industry in which Akida could get a leg in—not life threatening and k’uge!

This is just the MBUX system cloud connected currently available.
2024 is when Mercedes might be planning to integrate Akida into their production models from what had been discussed previously.

Mon, June 27, 2022, 7:00 PM·4 min read

Joint solution is available now to enable powerful, efficient and safe automotive ECUs
TEL AVIV, Israel, June 27, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Hailo, the leading edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) chipmaker, today announced its collaboration with Renesas, a premier supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, to deliver a powerful and energy-efficient processing solution enabling advanced driver-assistance (ADAS) functions and automated driving (AD) systems in motor vehicles. The joint Hailo-Renesas solution will make sophisticated ADAS technology more accessible in cars of all types.
The joint Hailo-Renesas solution will make sophisticated ADAS technology more accessible in cars of all types.
The joint Hailo-Renesas solution will make sophisticated ADAS technology more accessible in cars of all types.
The combination of Hailo-8 processors, designed for heavy Neural Network (NN) acceleration, with the powerful Renesas R-Car V3H & R-Car V4H systems-on-chip (SoCs), powers robust, scalable, efficient, and cost-effective ADAS solutions for zonal and centralized vehicular ECUs. The solutions are scalable for a wide range of ADAS functions from ADAS L2+ up to L4 AD functions requiring very high tera-operations per second (TOPS), while delivering best-in-class TOPS/W.

"ADAS and AD features have proven to be instrumental in minimizing accidents and saving lives. However, technological challenges have caused great difficulties for automakers looking to make such advanced functions accessible in anything but higher-end vehicles," said Orr Danon, CEO and Co-Founder of Hailo. "Together with Renesas, we are offering a solution helping democratize ADAS, so its benefits can be enjoyed by more and more drivers. AI will play a major role in making our roads safer, and with industry leaders like Renesas helping us innovate, we will make driving both safer and more affordable."
"Automotive OEMs are looking for scalable solutions for ADAS and AD to streamline software development," said Yusuke Kawasaki, Director, Automotive Digital Products Marketing Division at Renesas. "We are confident that our collaboration with Hailo, which has expertise in AI technology, will enable our customers to easily extend the performance of the R-Car so that they can flexibly and quickly incorporate ADAS/AD functionality in various classes of vehicles."
Key features for the joint Hailo-Renesas solution include:
  • Independent scalability in AI & compute, allowing flexibility and cost-effectiveness for Level 2+ to Level 4 ADAS designs
  • The highest performing solution available today in the automotive market, ranging from 60 TOPS to over 170 TOPS for multi-sensor perception and fusion
  • Best-in-class power efficiency, enabling ECUs to be passively cooled, which reduces the BOM and system cost
  • Functional safety for the ADAS/AD ECU with Renesas R-Car (R-Car V4H is expected to achieve ASIL-B and D metrics for the real-time domain) and Hailo (Hailo-8 supports ASIL B)
  • An open software ecosystem allowing OEMs/Tier-1s more control & possibility for innovation
A single Hailo-8™ delivers unprecedented performance to edge devices. Featuring up to 26 TOPS at a typical power consumption of 2.5 W, the chip is built with an innovative architecture that enables edge devices to run sophisticated Deep Learning applications that could previously only run on the cloud. Hailo-8's advanced structure translates into higher performance, lower power, and minimal latency, enabling enhanced privacy and better reliability for smart devices operating at the edge.
Hailo continues to make significant strides in the automotive industry, partnering with industry leaders to create high-performance, scalable AI solutions for automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs), enabling power-efficient AI acceleration with low energy consumption to advance automotive innovation.
The joint Hailo-Renesas solution is available for customer evaluations and demonstrations. It will be showcased live at Automobil Elektronik Kongress in Ludwigsburg (Germany) on June 28-29.

Interesting view of Edge computing from ARM blog. The full blog is worth reading and the link is below:

“First, the physical dimensions of the edge will be different from any computing platform before it. Data Centers historically have been centralized and actively managed by employees. Desktops and laptops are examples of distributed computing systems, but the degree of physical control is still very real. Individuals are using them. Edge systems will be out in the wild–attached to wind turbines or inside a sealed box in an urban corridor. There will be a premium on robustness and reliability.

Second, edge systems will also place a high premium on low latency. Health care organizations will use edge devices to monitor remote patients in real-time. We will see edge systems running diagnostics of airplanes in flight. Low latency will enhance the value of these systems. But, again, unless we get the foundation set correctly, the adoption curve will be challenging”

Yes please ;). At 10x I would retire with more than I could ever sensibly spend.

At best this has the potential to be truly life changing even with my modest units. At worst it’ll clear parts or most of our mortgage. At any rate it’s better than any lotto ticket I ever played 🤣😂

Personally I just top up every month. Avoid too many looks at SP.

What an interesting little journey. After clicking on Learn a series of titles, categories come up the first two defining the areas where Brainchip’s AKIDA technology is applicable according to ARM.

Suffice to say the lists are so long and extensive that they might well have just said ‘Anything you can imagine’.

Someone who is more able might like to copy these lists and post here. Ubiquitous is not overstating AKIDA’s reach.

“In the past, smartphones were not powerful enough to process complex AI based algorithms and data had to be sent to the cloud for processing. Communication to and from the cloud makes AI processing slow and is useless without a network. The new Track AI technology combines the very best in Huawei’s machine learning and on-device AI processing technology with concrete research and insights from IIS Aragon and DIVE Medical, said Peter Gauden, Technology Expert, Huawei.

"The equipment is portable, and any non-trained professional can crunch the data on their phone, without needing even access to a wireless network or Wi-Fi signal"

Are there any yet known links between Brainchip and Huwaei / DIVE?

Two speculative links:

1. Former CEO Mr. Dinardo in 2019 and 2020 referred to discussions with a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer.

2. Recently someone exposed 4 x AKD1000 chips being teamed with a Huawei processor as part of a research project in Europe.

That would be these.

HiSilicon owned by Huawei.

They do have what's called their DaVinci architecture tied in with the AI.

HISILICON
KUNPENG
In a are four dual processor nodes (Huawei TaiShan 200) in the eX3 cluster with the HiSilicon KunPeng 920 processor (64-bit, 64-core, ARM). This makes a total of eight processors with 512 cores. Each Huawei node has 1 TB DDR4 main memory and 4.2 TB local SSD scratch storage

AKIDA NEURAL PROCESSOR
The KunPeng CPU nodes (see above) hosts four Akida Neural Processors from BrainChip. These processors are designed specifically for neuromorphic computing.
