BET Discussion 2022

BETs limit should be .46 tomorrow……..so hopefully we can keep the cash in the bank………is this the buy-back you have when not having to buy-back!!……………
So far the shorters aren't buying back either which means there is still 108M from them (although they would never get to 0 so probably 90M + 80Mish possible from the buy back. That is a hell of a lot of stock to be bought. I have a feeling the buy back might not happen when the SP is above $0.70ish though.

I don't get why the shorters aren't buying though - its pretty much game over for them and time to move on.

Less Macquarie’s as they will buy off market.

Yeah I wonder if they sold all the shares they borrowed - will be interesting to see what they can do.

Its good to see a bit of momentum when, as you say Reg, we are not buying. Keep the ammo for when we need it. Hopefully the Sp will still be on a upswing when we get next weeks financials

It was a lot to get sold into the market but being a third of the short position they were likely the big player and responsible for tanking the SP. Not 100% sure I want them as a substantial holder in the future if they have no regard for the reputation of the company which is largely reflected in SP performance. I know it’s their business but it still grates me that the process is legal. Outright underhanded practice and should be barred.

I don't have a problem with shorting. I have a problem with price manipulation and deliberate buy/sell tactics that drive the price down (or up for that matter). Shorters that manipulate the price down can die in a fire.

I don’t understand the short game……….but someone is keep the buy price just above BETs limit……….it has been a good trading opportunity if thats your game.

If shorters are wanting to buy back .. then they need their buy order to be above whatever the daily BET buy price threshold .. if they are below the BET threshold then
you would think that they are never going to get hit as BET will be mopping them up at the threshold level… as I assume BET have their broker well schooled up with clear buying instructions. Also BET haven’t spent much yet… so plenty of fuel left in the tank to buy back at these levels and higher 🚀🚀🚀🚀.. strong 4th quarter results are vital for the next leg up .. $30mill+ revenue would be well received by the market 🤞🤞🤞

It doesn't look like its the shorters buying up - at least not up till last Friday - shorts still pretty much unchanged.
Which is good news - both shorters and BET will be after the shares at a higher price.
Reg maybe the someone that has been keeping the price above BET's max has realised that they can make a very good profit from both BET and the shorters with this tactic. Its been green since the 13/7 so its working for them.

Totally agree…….so I guess we will finish the week at .505 (and out of our buying limit)
May get some orders filled today possibly. The global markets seem to have found the bottom which is positive signs across the board.

Wasn't the online betting supposed to be up and running before the Haskell Race? I guess with no announcement today, it has been delayed.

I'm back - and holding again. Nearly got wiped out towards the EOFY but I didn't want to let this escape me.

Usually though - aren't these things are released on the same day as, and then they 'talk to the numbers', rather than letting us digest it and then telling us what we already know (or think we do) ?

My gut feeling is that these are going to be some GOOD numbers - perhaps a significant announcement too - because I've never seen any company stand up there on the same day and take flak for trying to explain away "bad numbers", it just adds to the damage.

Companies only do these things when they have a "good news story" that they want to promote and show off (usually together with another announcement in there too which shows them in as positive a light as they can), so I am quietly excited about this. :D

I’m going with number 6 White Abarrio
I don't know anything about the US scene but just read someone on Reddit talking up Benevengo as they have a 1% ownership.

We claimed him for $25k in his maiden race and he has since won two races impressively for us, including against older horses in an allowance last time out at Monmouth.

Never take owners tips is my only tip.

Thanks for sharing…….did you see the run of ‘Our Lucky Man’ in that race???? it could have won it had it not been for the jump out of the gate.
No hadn't seen it. You would be pissed though!

$8 pop, Cyberknife …beat the $1.65 favourite in the Haskell.

Therefore Cyberknife is the horse in the running for the Betmerkers $1milll bonus bonanza .. has to win the next 2 legs .

Last time BET took out expensive insurance for this promotion .. I would like to think that they have enough money in the bank not to worry about insurance this year.

At the end of the day .. $1milll is cheap marketing.. and I would think that all three races being won won’t happen very often … even though it happened last year .

Hopefully big week ahead … will be disappointed if they don’t hit the $30mill revenue for the quarter.
