If that’s the case no wonder Davey was happy to sell out and get off the board. Collecting rent. Nice that the cornerstones of the company are crippling the SP for own benefit. Waterhouse doesn’t surprise me. He has the surname but Davey is not cool.
Remember that broker loophole - where at anytime the broker can purchase the shortes stock at the current price...

Yep I’m not sure that is in all the share loan agreements. We just saw the Macquarie agreement had it in there. Rules are horrific.

There is no Macquarie Bank or Matt Tripp in that list????….Have they all moved shares under the HSBC & JP Morgan Nominees names?………There have been no notices for change of substantial holder?

If you look back on the 2021 report you will notice 28m of Davey's shares are used for on a funding agreement ..... (ie: 3.3% of the shares). Tripp also holds 4.3% odd of the company (and yes he disappears in 2022).

My guess would be the have both used their shares this year for fund NTD (hence not held in their names) ... rather than loaning to shorters like Mr Waterhouse

I would assume now that he is not on the board Davey doesn't have to report this?? And Mr Tripp holds below 5% so he doesn't appear in the "substantial holders" section

I’m referring to the top 20 in the report
I guess all of the side deals and shorting is probably the reason the top 20 shareholder list is quite confusing 🤷🤷🤷

Agree, good luck trying to work out who is lending shares from the published lists!
Last Friday's podcast ,was the first time I noticed a reaction from Todd where he seemed quite frustrated by the short games going on.
Previously it was always the standard line of "we are focused on running the business and cant help what the market is doing" but now I sense a change of attitude that I would call more aggressive.
You would have accepted a pull back today, given the macros , but we held strong so maybe its the start ?
What better time to say enough is enough with Spring Racing Calendar to kick off and other news from a raft of sources.

I have sent a question to Jane and Anthony querying if any of the top 20 shareholders are lending out their shares?…..considering the substantial changes compared to FY2021…….and no changes to substantial holder notices have been lodged to substantiate those differences between last FY and the current FY
Maybe you should have asked if any aren't lending out their shares.

🤷‍♂️ missed opportunity to make a statement.
Well they may not see it that way. I’ve given up trying to work them out.

It will be interesting to see what the shorts come in at - there was a lot of volume yesterday which was probably shorts trying to push it down.

I’m on board with the riddle. If the shorts thought this buy back would be over swiftly they were so terribly wrong.

Going slow keeping the buying ahead of the shorts is perfection. Hopefully this can be drawn out until Dec/Jan.

I'm not really sure there was anything said on Friday that wasn't known. Strange they had to stop the BB for it.

Yes .. so the shorters would have closed their positions at 41.5 and 42c today ie the level that BET couldn’t buy at .
