The fucktard incursion that, at the time, you refused to acknowledge as a problem? This forum wouldn't be here today if not for some members that refused to stick their heads in the sand.

Anyway, I don't have a problem with you Spike, although sometimes you come across as having a holier than thou attitude. All good - no more HC reposts from me then.

That's fine mate and I do appreciate those that took the effort to try and root out the problem and end it, including you and I have said as much earlier in the week but why is it holier than thou to not want to see stupid posts of you guys trolling the trolls for shits and giggles on another website that we have absolutely no interest in engaging with and came here to forget about it?

Agreed. But my excitement meter will go into overdrive if, as I expect (including wish for, hope for, pray for) an announcement of further suspension until the 27th.

GLTAH
Do you think a further extension is actually required?

I presume that with these types of proceedings, there's all sorts of administrative overheads and schedules to be sorted out (i.e. it's not as though, if AVZ reinstated proceedings, on 24th June the ICSID jumps out of bed and starts the hearing).

If AVZ choose to reinitiate proceedings, I imagine a new timeline would have to be agreed, hearing dates booked and so on.

I think the inherent 'lag' created by the bureaucracy probably provides enough slack for AVZ to not do anything official until mid July if the Don hasn't whipped out his mega Sharpie by then.

(Disclaimer: I'm writing this in the hope I'll be proven wrong and there'll be an official update next week)

Was wondering why Qatar is involved in peace talks between US, Rwanda and DRC? Must be something in it for them??
Qatar actively position themselves as global mediators on all sorts of disputes. That's all they're in it for.

The matter was adjourned until the 23rd.
The court set the date, as agreed by AVZ and DRC.

Unless adjourned again, it will proceed on the 23rd.

I assume if not adjourned, we won't get an announement. Things will just proceed.

PS. Nothing stopping the BOD giving an update to this effect.

Maybe extending the suspension is a simple, cost effective and efficient thing to do while the deal plays out?

If proceedings recommence then I assume legal teams are activated again, additional costs may be incurred, attention needs to be paid again to the ICSID matters, focus is drawn away from the important deal negotiation, resources and energies get redirected away from the main prize of delivering a final successful buyout arrangement which right now almost feels tangible and dare I say “im…im…imminent”????

So maybe a simple little “extension please” provides inexpensive and timely “wiggle room” for just another hopefully very short period while the deal gets done? 🤷‍♂️

Just reading through others' interpretations of what 23rd represents (i.e. that things would proceed because it's an ICSID defined date), I think what you suggest, @Winenut, would be appropriate. 👍
