Great news but still a long way to go. Nice to have a bit of super positive news for a change.

Looks like Nigel has been earning his keep.

I know KoBold have said let Zijin have the North. Its a shame that scum will get anything but what we MUST get is compensation for the North. If KoBold want zijin to keep that's on them but then they have to pay us for it. So the way I see see it is 'fair compensation' is for the WHOLE 13359 in its original form. Bring the checkbook Bezos

I think we are in one of those grey areas where we need to get "fair value" - without publicly being too defined on what the fair value is for... everyone needs to save face here and there is a reason management said effectively "cool it guys you are not helping negotiations" regarding the social media stuff.

AVZ Minerals strikes Manono sale agreement with US firm backed by billionaires Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates

Stranded shareholders of AVZ Minerals have been thrown a lifeline after the delisted West Perth outfit inked a sale deal for its Congolese lithium project before Chinese interests could seize control.
AVZ has signed an agreement to transfer its rights in the Manono lithium project in the Democratic Republic of Congo for an undisclosed sum to California’s KoBold Metals, which counts the uber-rich Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates as investors.
KoBold notably uses artificial intelligence to hunt commodities like lithium and copper with more than 70 projects across the world.
The deal comes as Donald Trump looks to make a minerals-pact with the DRC despite China having a foothold in the impoverished nation’s untapped mineral wealth, setting the stage for a standoff between the world’s two superpowers.
The DRC is in dire need of military muscle to stave off a rebel assault funded by neighbour Rwanda.
A signed statement by AVZ chief executive Nigel Ferguson and his KoBold counterpart Kurt House said the two companies were working with the US and DRC government to get the deal wrapped up.
The DRC’s rulers have reportedly already given their thumbs up to the deal.
“This framework entails AVZ selling its commercial interest in the Manono lithium deposit to KoBold for fair value,” the statement read.
“The agreement will enable KoBold to rapidly deploy more than $US1 billion ($1.55b) to bring the Manono lithium to Western markets.”
AVZ was developing Manono— touted as “the biggest lithium discovery on the planet” — but in 2023 the DRC’s government controversially revoked and split the licence, giving China’s Zijin Mining the northern portion.
Zijin looked likely to strike a deal with the DRC government and annex AVZ’s portion of Manono.
The value of AVZ, listed on the ASX until May last year, was savaged by the licence drama and its shares are currently delisted.
AVZ has fought a bitter legal battle in hopes of winning back the whole deposit. Adding to the drama, The West Australian in December revealed that AVZ is under investigation by the Australian Federal Police over bribery allegations.
AVZ denied the allegations.

On the one hand it seems like good news, on the other hand Zijin gets the north (including CDL and our camp with the core library), we suspend ICSID arbitration, and KoBold comes in taking all the credit while acquiescing to the fat thief, and until we know different KoBold isn’t offering us anything substantial

Some here already suggested we would lose the north and the ICSID case would be suspended, and while this announcement regarding a settlement should be an occasion for celebration, it doesn’t feel like that to me

Most likely the fat thief said to KoBold, I’ll sign the license over to you if you force AVZ to drop the ICSID arbitration and stop their shareholders exposing my corruption, then I can go on lying to the people of the DRC and not have my record of corruption made public to the whole world through the ICSID

I’m just disappointed that we were finally in the position of a major legal win and now we suspend the ICSID case. As far as shareholders comments affecting negotiations, that’s bullshit, and seeing we have no sway in the negotiations there’s no reason we should be locked out of commenting as well

I put over half a million dollars into AVZ so KoBold, the fat idiot and anyone else who doesn’t want shareholders to comment can just put us on ignore, because it’s not going to happen

Some complete dorks :censored: invested everything into AVZ and their outlook is just happy to be out of this mess and be able to move on with their lives.
Lessons learned and I know I wasn't the only dork.

Whatever we get, I'll be just so thankful to be able to move on.

Wow, I hope that wasn't when the SP was $1 !!!

What's your average?

No mate, it’s pretty low but that doesn’t mean not fighting for fair value. As many have said, we have been stuck now for 3 years and I imagine most of us thought we might be getting dividends by now.

What would really piss me off is if AVZ didn’t pass all the cash back to us and decided to use some of it to start another project.

That happened with Altura Mining and those shares are worthless now, and Leo Lithium is doing the same with its second tranche to shareholders now going toward another project. An absolute fuck up by Leo Lithium so I voted against all their resolutions at their upcoming AGM

I think we will end up with a "Happy to be out of this shitshow and the DRC".
But UNHAPPY with the end result, the sale price and the fact that all the bad eggs will walk away scott free and no fines to be paid, no ICSID to expose their corrupt ways.

Lesson learnt the hard way. No more investing for me other than a Term Deposit.

...until the next under-valued monster grabs your attention. You may all pay a little more attention to jurisdiction and management next time, but there will be a next time.
There certainly will be for me.

Is it worth all sh's writing an email to the board that we in no way want another project to be considered, that we as sh's want the company fully wound up and to be paid out??

I'd imagine most here would lose their shit if they went off and tried to prolong our misery any further

$12....$12....$12!!!

If we kept a royalty and/or our equity we could probably get to that level of value in time but up front with 3.5B shares on issue, thats what 42 billion mc?
