Once the brine starts flowing, the real SP speculation will begin IMO!

Cheers to @GT8 Sorpresa - I didn’t notice this one pop up!

This is moving along pretty quick! I had a look at the well logs and there’s nothing indicating issues on the way down (no stuck tools this time!)

In the above you can see the wire is pretty much good to go from sheave to (single) BOP is all set.

Couldn't quite make out what was on the end, possibly just a sub awaiting bit.

Just need to grease her up and spud, if everything is tested, this could be as early as tonight (Australia time).

Interesting to not see any tweets from overnight, might we see something more substantial just before open?

It will be interesting to know if these tanks are likely to be used for production. It’s possible that they can be used to reduce turbidity before the brine flows to the plant, perhaps at the trade off of some thermal characteristics but also the benefits of reduced solids to deal with along the greater system. It’s not as simple as just plugging in a pipe - that’s why all the engineering takes so long.

In light of this tweet of Elon’s:

I’m reminded of this:

DFS and upgrade may prove timely indeed.

Heading down to depth, not long to go! Reentry wells are the best, it’s so quick!

Worth noting that sampling will (should) be done in reverse clastic order because they close as they come up. Probably leaving one open as last time with the Xmas tree on top.

Sounds like it makes sense. A lot rides on these results, fingers are crossed that they are as good or better than the old historic results. exciting times.

Once they have got to the sampling depth, any idea of a rough time frame for the lab results to confirm chemical makeup and ppm?

In an ideal situation you can have a preliminary estimate within a week, but things like the presence of hydrocarbons can drag that out - though ASN have figured that out already from previous entries so shouldn’t have too big an impact in that situation.

The pandemic situation is still dragging on a bit over there, so I’d not be unsurprised if it took a month with work backlogs and people out sick here and there etc.

I’m sure Bruce has/will do all he can to get us results asap.
