LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Feb. 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Forge Institute, a leader in private-public partnerships for national defense, has entered into a multi-year Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the Information Directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). This strategic alliance will focus on the advancement of analytic techniques for publicly available information (PAI), which are integral to enhancing the Air Force's cyber resilience and intelligence capabilities. This could potentially reshape the landscape of future Air Force multi-domain operations.


Key collaborations will be centered around the 188th Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group (188th ISRG) of the Arkansas Air National Guard 188th Wing at Ebbing Air National Guard Base, Fort Smith, Arkansas.

This initiative aligns with the U.S. Military Strategy, which prioritizes PAI and artificial intelligence (AI) to maintain a strategic advantage across all domains of warfare. As global threats evolve, integrating PAI analytics with machine learning and pattern recognition will help refine intelligence gathering, optimize decision-making, and improve national security efforts.

The project will involve key collaborations with the Arkansas Air National Guard's 188th Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group (188th ISRG) at Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Colonel Michael Martin, commander of the 188th ISRG, affirmed that associations like the one with the Forge Institute give the Air Force the opportunity to leverage next-gen digital tools like robotic process automation, AI, and cloud capabilities to improve analytic methods.
Highlighting the strategic importance of this partnership, Brigadier General Olen C. Bridges, the Arkansas Adjutant General, added, "Private-public collaborations, like the one with Forge Institute, are essential for offering state-of-the-art capabilities to Arkansas' military missions. We're always looking for a competitive advantage on the ground, in the air, or in cyberspace to provide leaders the best information for decision making. Partnerships like these are what makes the Arkansas National Guard the premier destination for Arkansas' best and brightest minds."
As part of the CRADA, the Air Force and the Forge Institute will share their expertise in PAI analytics to understand and develop advanced analytic methods, thereby integrating training, AI, and next-gen cloud capabilities.

You know, my beautiful father died suddenly very recently, not much more than one week ago actually, on the 23rd January at about 1am in the morning. He has always been my strongest advocate, my biggest influence and my brightest guiding light. I feel like I don't know what I will do without his guidance, but I also feel extremely grateful to have had such an incredible individual in my life. His greatest legacy to me was in teaching me the power of love.

"Love is what makes the world go around", he would remind me time and time again.

Laughing at others when they are struggling is not a virtue. Lifting people through love is.

SEOUL – ChatGPT Creator OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman, who is currently visiting Korea, is set to hold a meeting with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Softbank Group CEO Masayoshi Son on Tuesday to share industry insights and technological collaboration, possibly including development of the world’s first AI-specific device.
According to industry sources, the three-way meeting has been organized upon Altman’s Seoul visit, coming after almost a year, to attend “Builder Lab,” Open AI’s technology forum with local developers.
The three leaders are expected to discuss potential collaboration on cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology, possibly including producing an AI-specific device, given Samsung’s expertise in both computing hardware and semiconductors, according to speculations in Korea.
Altman previously revealed that his company is planning to develop such an AI-specific hardware and that, they “hope to do it in partnership,” in an interview last month.
Speaking to Nikkei Asia on Jan. 27, Altman said, “it feels to me like AI is a big enough shift in how we can interact with computers that there ought to be a new kind of hardware,” adding that it would take several years to unveil a prototype.
He also said OpenAI is working on developing its own semiconductors.
Samsung, the world’s leading smartphone and semiconductor supplier, produces cutting-edge products deemed crucial in advanced AI applications, including High Bandwidth Memory, enterprise SSD chips and GDDR7.
OpenAI and Softbank Group may also ask Samsung to invest in their $500-billion Stargate venture project. Together with Oracle, the two companies announced their joint project for the large-scale development of AI infrastructure on US soil, a day after the inauguration of US President Donald Trump.
During his trip to Japan last month, Altman had asked Japanese firms to participate in Stargate.
Softbank is planning to invest over $15 billion directly in Stargate, as well as $15-25 billion in OpenAI.
Altman is officially visiting Korea for the third time, with his latest trip being in January 2024. At the time, he visited Samsung’s production facility in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.
For Lee, it is his first public activity after an appellate court cleared him of all charges related to a contentious merger between Samsung affiliates on Monday.
