AVZ Discussion 2022

I am sometimes amazed with Carolos - clearly a really smart man, but why argue the case of the enemy and do the work for them.

Sometimes I think if you were in court you would argue the prosecutions case because they were doing a very poor job, even though you are on the defence side.

Pointing out that you were blindly reposting misinformation that had already been debunked here and literally involved me isn't doing the enemy's work but try and deflect however you like lmfao

Why would they do it ? Because the brown bags were loaded with crisp $100 greenbacks
To concentrate on Roche Dure/sth CDL and don't risk losing it at the expense of trying to secure nth CDL
Nigel said back in 2022 that he was told by Mupande that Felix was the one that requested the north be split

But when Nigel met Felix he was told that wasn't true

At the AGM that year we were told that management didn't give away the north yet at the ICC DLA Piper claim 'as part of its application to convert PR13359 into a mining permit, Dathcom was forced to relinquish the northern part of PR 13359 by the supervisory authorities'

So to answer your question Dathcom submitted the waiver to try and secure the ML for RD as they believed they wouldn't get a ML for the entire tenement due to a request from Felix

Not that it matters because the north is haunted by mica anyway imo

Hey Silent. Firstly thanks for your contributions here. Lots of info that i for one cant be bothered trying to find on X. Re Carlos i beleive that he is probably the most valued poster on this forum. You alwys know that what he posts is the facts...good or bad ! A Carlos post is like an official announcement from AVZ without being an official announcement. Always look forward to a Carlos post to keep us up to date. Also shout out to Dave Evans. Not sure how ya do it Dave but credit to you for all the info you post here and on X

The only path in my view is one of facts, not made up bullshit. In the beginning I found @Carlos Danger posts a little concerning but I realised he was right about everything he was posting

I try and put in a little effort on X, but like I’ve said before, you probably have to be in the ‘wink’ group to get the support. Either that or just not getting the views or shareholders are too scared to put the facts out there because they think playing nice will bring a fair result

I don’t mind this poster on X, but he seems to be a KoBold supporter and we know they are full of shit so I replied to him three or four times (and fucked if I’m going to edit his messy posts like I usually do)

Manono Lithium: When the Truth Is Messy, China Wins the Race Current Status Summary - Northern section (Zijin Mining 61% / Cominière 39%): Still on track for first commercial production in June 2026. Construction progress continues (camp, Phase I solar, processing plant, smelter, logistics). This will be the DRC’s first large-scale lithium output (~95,000 tpa lithium sulfate equivalent). No new delays reported. - Southern section (Roche Dure zone, original AVZ claim): No resolution. - AVZ’s ICSID arbitration against DRC remains active (post-February 2026 suspension ended; tribunal reconstitution pending). - No sale to KoBold Metals finalized despite earlier framework talks and U.S. pressure. - KoBold continues to wait for clear title and continues exploration elsewhere in Greater Katanga. - Market context: Lithium prices remain depressed (~80–86% below 2022 peaks), reducing urgency for new supply but also making development economics challenging. 9 Red Flags That Make Manono a High-Risk Lithium Play 1. Unresolved international arbitration AVZ’s ICSID case against DRC (expropriation claim) has no final ruling after nearly three years. A loss for AVZ would cement Zijin’s northern control; a win could force renegotiation — but Zijin would likely already be producing. 2. Split ownership & conflicting permits The deposit is effectively cut in two. Northern section moves forward under Chinese/DRC JV; southern section is legally contested. This creates parallel timelines and incompatible development plans. 3. No binding sale to Western player KoBold Metals (U.S.-backed) is still the only credible Western contender, but no deal has been signed. AVZ continues legal fight and has Chinese funding support (CATL subsidiary CATH). 4. DRC hedging & sovereignty pushback Kinshasa supports KoBold in principle (SAR shortlist) but has not forced AVZ to sell or cleared title. DRC continues to balance U.S. “friend-shoring” offers with Chinese operational speed. 5. Chinese head-start locked in Zijin’s northern section is fully permitted and under construction. Even if southern section eventually goes to KoBold, China will have first-mover advantage and established infrastructure/logistics. 6. Low lithium prices test economics Prices ~80–86% below 2022 peaks make new greenfield projects marginal. Delays in Manono South increase the risk that development becomes uneconomic if prices stay depressed. 7. Indirect eastern conflict risk While Manono is in Tanganyika (far from active M23/FDLR zones), prolonged instability in North Kivu erodes investor confidence across the entire eastern DRC. 8. Governance & corruption overhang The permit revocation and reassignment process (2023) raised serious transparency concerns (Global Witness, UN reports). Similar patterns in other DRC lithium/tin/coltan deals fuel distrust. 9. Lack of in-country value-add commitment No binding requirement for local refining or processing in either section. Raw concentrate exports would limit DRC’s capture of value, repeating the cobalt/copper pattern. Bottom Line Manono remains the DRC’s best hope for large-scale lithium production, but the saga is now entering its ninth year of dispute and delay. China (Zijin) is winning the race on the ground; the West (KoBold/AVZ) is still stuck in arbitration and negotiation. The nine red flags above explain why — despite enormous potential — Manono is more likely to remain a geopolitical football than a functioning mine in the near term. True progress requires a settlement (AVZ/KoBold), title clarity, and real commitments to in-country processing — none of which appear imminent.

Why do your posts appear to written by AI or KoBold The DRC want KoBold to get Roche Dure because KoBold ignores the corruption

Fact check these links & pick the odd picture at the bottom $AVZ @iccwbo

Replying to @LouisWKabamba

Why are @cominiereSA Directors still in charge of mining in the DRC

@WorldBankAfrica @IMFAfrica @USTreasury @SecScottBessent

Their corruption is in reports by @ALINGETEJULES_K @iccwbo @icsid $AVZ

@DaveEva12049801

$AVZ Lithium prices are increasing as forecasts predict demand to outstrip supply & the delay has been 4 years, not 9!

You never mention Cominiere’s corruption

Fact check yourself while you read these

Are we talking geological time frames or Manono time frames?

Not that it really matters in practice. Either way I'm working tomorrow.

Not until the money's in your account. Until then take up a hobby and remember that each day is a day closer to an outcome.

Some here have almost certainly risked more on this project than you have, both in terms of actual hard earned cash and the proportion of their total wealth their investment represents. Rest assured that some of those could quit their jobs and live happily on a return less than half that or your buy in price, and at least a few of those will vote no on any offer that would see you make a loss.

Most shareholders got an email or letter over the last week explaining everything. Obviously you aren't in that group.

So looks like we've paid 4030 and not 4029

Bizarre

I guess it makes some sense as 4030 is the one mostly around RD and 4029 is the one around CDL
