I have mused about it before... just what could they do or put in place to prevent shenanigans/brown bags... leaves me scratching my head (I mean they could post security details to protect the 10% of US citizens working on sites... and impose massive sanctions)... yeah I think its a different ballgame.

Well it is not like the corruption is difficult to detect. We all know many of the corrupt individuals. I suspect when the corruption disadvantages US interests, then the sh*t hits the fan for DRC.

If they maintain strict records of what funds are provided, along with details including what account the funds are in, what they are to be used for, then this would likely have a positive impact. They are talking about transparency. So no more secret payments where Celestin and Lisette run off with the cash. They want the payments documented and the process transparent.

Would love to get some free carry to any downstream processing operations of the Manono deposit. Similar to the CATH deal they’ve proposed for AVZ. Also I think royalties is a goer too but unsure how that would work out. I think that will generate substantial value over the years but also I just wanna get my $12ps and get the fuck outta of the DRC.

They will need to pick up the corruption slack with other nations/investors. They will double down on ripping them off . The US will give other investors a false sense of security . DRC Gov thieves will be waiting to pounce. It's ingrained in the DNA . They are amongst the lowest form of scum.

The difference is the US will be providing the security which enables Felix to keep control of the country. Felix is complicit in the corruption that has been causing such detrimental effects for AVZ. So the corrupt individuals could act with impunity. I WISH Felix would try that on the US when they are providing the security for the DRC. See where it gets him haha.

Sounds like the press release first announcing the US arrival in Vietnam. If Felix believes that then he'll believe the Dragons can win the comp this year. Strategic bases require troops for protection. Lots of troops is how the US rolls.

Have a mate who insists part of Trump's plan for DRC is building prisons for illegal US immigrants. Heard Marco Rubio saying the US were looking much further afield than El Salvador to hold 'bad guys'.

I am actually hoping one doesn't get announced until everything is sorted end of June... the only reason to announce now would be to try to entertain other offers. If he is keeping it quiet waiting for all the milestones, I am hopeful the deal is so favourable he doesnt want to risk offsetting anything and is just waiting for the last domino and its all sealed up so he can announce it to SH and show us all just what his idea of fair value is... given how enthusiastic he has historically been if he changes his tune, yeah we will be out for blood.

China has announced a ban on all brown bag transactions and this applies retrospectively, including the ones handed over to DRC officials.

In addition as a sign of good faith, the Chinese government will compensate AVZ for the loss of earnings and cancellation of the mining decree. The compensation figure announced is $20 trillion which will be deposited into AVZ‘s bank account by COB Monday 2nd June 2025.

In other news, DRC officials including the President and his cabinet have admitted guilt for all corrupt activities and as a show of good faith and in the interests of the AVZ and DRC partnership, the DRC government has handed all mining rights for the country’s entire lithium deposit to AVZ.
