Australia’s Treasury Wine Estates was effectively shut out of China because of a soured relationship between the two countries. The winemaker, which counts brands such as Penfolds and Wynns among its portfolio, has had a pretty rough few years. China imposed tariffs of as much as 212% on Australian wine imports in 2020, which basically wiped out one of Treasury Wine’s most lucrative markets.
