A New York state appeals court rejected Fox bid to throw out a defamation lawsuit by Smartmatic over false claims that the voting technology company helped rig the 2020 presidential election. Smartmatic alleges that Fox Corp., Fox News and some of its hosts amplified misinformation that hurt its business and caused reputational harm. The voting technology business is seeking billions in damages.
