Newmont stock offers leverage to a bullish macro backdrop for gold as the yellow metal’s prices are expected to rally even higher over the next two years, UBS analysts said. The price of gold has climbed 23% this year to $3,260.10, reaching a significant milestone after crossing the $3,000 mark last month. Consistent with previous market shocks like the 2008 financial crisis and 2020 pandemic, gold and gold equities initially were sold off and are now booming, the analysts noted.
