This DOES NOT show a director having confidence in the company, it only shows the usual practice of directors looking after themselves first.
I expect the first order of business at every directors meeting for every company in the world is “How much can we give ourselves?” That certainly is the majority of items I find I need to vote on in annual meetings. To which I always vote no, as I’d rather they truly show confidence in the company by using their own capital to buy shares.
And I don’t buy the argument of needing to give them more to retain them—they get paid handsomely already.
