BRN Discussion Ongoing

Everyone who worked with akida have the same opinion but still so long to get market acceptance.
It’s only starting to get noticed now
Yes it’s taken years but soon everyone will want in.
And what a shame if you missed the train or bus when it leaves the station
Hope you have your tickets.

A video going along with that paper was uploaded to YouTube yesterday:

Both paper and video relate to another paper and video published by the same Uni Tübingen authors earlier this year. At a cursory glance, at least the videos (posted about six months apart) appear to be VERY similar:

Now compare the slides to those in the video uploaded October 3:

In fact, when I just tried to cursorily compare the new paper to the March 15 paper that @Fullmoonfever had linked at the time (https://thestockexchange.com.au/threads/brn-discussion-ongoing.1/post-416313), I discovered that the link he had posted then now connects directly to this new paper, published on September 16, so it seems to be an updated version of the previous paper.

I did notice the addition of another co-author, though: Sebastian Otte, who used to be a PhD student and postdoc at Uni Tübingen (2013-2023) and became Professor at Uni Lübeck’s Institute for Robotics and Cognitive Systems just over a year ago, where he heads the Adaptive AI research group.

To put the results that our competitors’ neuromorphic offerings fared worse in the benchmarking tests alongside Akida somewhat into perspective:
In all fairness, it should be highlighted that Akida’s superiority was at least partly due to the fact that AKD1000 is available as a PCIe Board, whereas SynSense’s DynapCNN was connected to the PC via USB and - as the excerpt Gazzafish already posted shows - the researchers did not have direct access to a Loihi 2 edge device, but merely through a virtual machine provided by Intel via their Neuromorphic Research Cloud. The benchmarking would obviously yield better comparable results if the actual hardware used were of a similar form factor:

“Our results show that the better a neuromorphic edge device is connected to the main compute unit, e.g., as a PCIe card, the better the overall run-time.”

Anyway, Akida undoubtedly impressed the researchers, and as a result they are considering further experiments: “(…) future work could involve evaluating the system with an additional Akida PCIe card.”

In an earlier post (https://thestockexchange.com.au/threads/brn-discussion-ongoing.1/post-426404), I had already mentioned that the paper’s first author, Andreas Ziegler, who is doing a PhD in robotics and computer vision at Uni Tübingen, has meanwhile completed his internship at Sony AI in Switzerland (that - as we know - partially funded the paper’s research):

Fun fact: One of his co-authors, Karl Vetter, however, is no longer with Uni Tübingen’s Cognitive Systems Lab, but has since moved to France, where he has been working as a research engineer for…

🥁 🥁 🥁 Neurobus for the past three months!
It’s a small world, isn’t it?! 😉

Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into your research. It must be a lot of work.

Brainchip really need to release a good news story on asx to have and capture the good news stories in the media or we will be going backwards again
Down down ⬇️⬇️⬇️ the s p is down
Just bury this idea already.

Obviously the only communications via ASX will be price sensitive Ann's involving quarterlys, patents and hopefully a few juicy contacts.

Our run in Jan 2023 with the Mercedes news involved no ASX announcements at all.

I find it slightly ironic that those invested in an AI company can't work out how to sign up to an X account, search for Brainchip and follow the company.

Looks like our marketing and product team have come out with a strategy the market likes. Good move at the right time.

Just looking at brainchip shop for edge box.
The new price $1495 per unit. Let us see how much revenue can be generated from that.
I assume the 1st price was $700 per unit.

Nice article out overnight....the post I put up yesterday about Intel, it's almost as if Steve Brightfield had to defend our position in
offsetting Mike Davies comments, would the journalist have to get permission from Mike to include his comments within our news story ?
I wonder, anyway....moving right along.

Good morning.....Tech.

Seems like they are trying to restrict demand, possibly due to the limited supply of chips?

Tony said in an email, that it was hoped demand would encourage VVDN to place an order, for the production of more..

That's something, that would need to be announced, as it would be a material amount, or perhaps not, if BrainChip was bearing the initial cost and it was profit sharing on sales?..

Just hoping we need not kill the demand even before a start !!!
Could not believe what management is expecting here and what type of relationships we have with our partners. Last year it was the top talking point from brainchip management and then we found out it will not the coming until end of this year and now a price increase of more than 110%.
I am really worried about another failed project from team brainchip.
Fingers crossed !!!

Actually you have a different view of what happens at the moment I would guess…. What I see is not a failing of our projects, it’s move an improvement and further development of the technology. The fact is, in our field, technology seems to be advancing explosively, almost on a weekly basis… You can’t stand still. And what’s wrong with expanding your range? That way, you can attract even more potential customers. I don’t see anything negative about it. On the contrary, it would be dramatic if we only offered one product.

Yup got my dates wrong. Knew it was about 3 years ago now, as I'd just started dating my now fiance. I know this because I started spending WAY to much money on dates and upgrading all my furniture thinking we'd made it. Been paying off my credit card ever since 😄

Exactly.

There is no failed project(s), nonsense statement.

Didn't Sean say that they have talks to interested parties on all the different offerings? AK1000, 1500 & 2 and now Tenns + Pico. Don't forget software also, which should be quite fast getting to the market according to people in the know.

Those advances happened in steps just like expected, seen from an engineering viewpoint.

Tenns & Pico NPU are without any doubt the most impressive seen from the company so far, but it doesn't mean AL1000 don't have any use.

I am by the way very happy to see all the press Akida Pico has got so far, the company's products are gaining traction it seems.

I hope I am wrong, but looking at the fate of tape out by Renasas, sale of akida boards, sale of akida 1000 chips, sale of pytorch board with akida, all are getting into single lane. And that is also a reason of present SP

Back in July Ant61 signed an agreement with Japanese Company Sompo (USD108 billion company) for the Ant61 beacon technology they have. Is this the tech that has akida or something else?

Have been following this stock for a fair few birthdays now and it has been interesting watching the story unfold, I am hoping it is just more than a story. One thing I hope that this technology does improve is the hearing aid sector me being a deaf old Coote and not wanting an implant just yet. It got me thinking with all the people that bounce back and forward between the various sites what would one item or product that would be on top of people wish list to gain improvement through SNN edge compute technology. I am not pushing any product or stock just interested to see where everyday people are hoping neuromorphic tech can improve outcomes. As I say just curious shoot me down blow me up put me on ignore or add a thought just for shits and giggles.

You know, most people here who are invested in Brainchip have nothing against reasonable objections. Even among the best friends, there are differing worldviews… one can discuss many things without immediately hating each other, as long as no one is labeled as a ‘sheep’ or ‘dumb’ for their optimism. And as has been mentioned many times, we have no influence on Brainchip’s internal operations anyway. That’s why I don’t understand what’s to be gained by directly accusing people who share information with sources to keep others informed. That’s why people like me are here—to gather information about the company’s current events and developments. I work an above-average amount and only surf the internet occasionally, like many others here. We just don’t have the patience for whining and badmouthing. If someone thinks they can do it better and has the qualifications, they should apply for a job at brainchip. There’s a saying: ‘If you can’t do something better yourself, then shut up.’ Just my opinion. To add… most of the basher here are not interested in a productive conversation… that’s why they get a proper response!

Hi Paxs.

I too would love to see our tech shining and improving capabilities where there is both a current need and where we have obvious advantages over extant systems.
I have long thought we need to show the world something that knocks their sox off, some killer app that showcases our advantages in a clear and easily understandable fashion, in order that we may both gain traction and establish our reputation broadly, both for rapid sustained growth and for brand recognition.
I had originally thought that would be in some medical diagnostic kit, such as a cheap, reliable and data protective Covid detector, which would have ridden the coattails of the unfortunate Pandemic into global consciousness.

Therefore I like your idea of us being involved in the hearing aid sector and dream of us being partnered with Cochlear or a similar entity, with both the existing good reputation and commercial heft to drive us forward.

The other immediate area we could enhance is drones/robotics and I would like to see us widely utilised here in some fashion where our characteristics should allow and showcase just how our hardware/software can vastly improved efficiency, battery endurance and the autonomy of even existing systems. I would love us to, again, be involved with a player such as Boston Dynamics or Tesla, who can market what we bring to the table, effectively. Maybe, this then provides the entree into a Samsung or Hyundai conglomerate so we begin to experience both scale and ubiquity.

I guess this is really retail investor thinking, largely driven with the impetus of an increasing share price, whilst the reality may turn out very differently, with a long, slow, quiet progression, largely hidden behind closed doors, defense procurement initiatives and NDA's and enmeshed within other's trademarks and brands.
For personal reasons, I'm still hoping for an announcement this week coming, and have been waiting for such, since October 2015, when I bought my first parcel of 10,000 shares for .325 cents.
Oh baby, what a ride it's been. 🤣
Bring It BrainChip!
