Still on Telstra copper but who knows what state it's in by now. Planning a shift to Tasmania over the next year or so and will be looking for a nice fibre connection from when they were still halfway serious about bringing us into the 21st century and were trialling big boy options. Just hope they had professionals when they installed the link across Bass straight and sealed the cable properly.

Just hoping to alleviate their misery.
The irony is that, in its original conception (ARPANET?), the internet was supposed to be able to maintain communications despite major infrastructure damage. Now it has become the greatest single point of vulnerability - too many eggs in one basket?

To be honest if this news was not posted or shared I would not have known what happened actually. I had zero impact of this issue to be honest.
