What are you saying here Reg? I know where to find previous announcements.

Given nothing has come of the 2020 Pointsbet agreement and given BET is only supplying FO services directly to Monmouth Park (Darby Developments), I just can’t see how FO scales in a way that BET can supply multiple operators in a state.

Keen to see how others see it?

you asked this question “Can BET provide FO to other operators in NJ (e.g. Pointsbet)?”……I was just pointing you to the answer….but if you already knew where to find the answer, then why the question?
Ok, the announcement 3yrs ago says yes, but then nothing has come of that, they’re still only supplying one operator and there is no longer talk of the 2020 Pointsbet agreement - so in practice no, they can’t supply more than one operator with FO in NJ

Is that the same conclusion you draw?

The “Establishment“ on the West and East Coasts have been blocking the rollout of FO……..they have influence on wagering operators and smaller racetracks due to the content/similcast rights that they own and the parimutuel monopoly of their markets (which are some of the biggest in the US). You can see the ’Establishment’ now linking to sportsbook operators and trying to get them to offer their parimutuel racing content on their sites.

This is why we have ‘MonmouthBets’ Website and App……..it advances the rollout of FO against the headwinds mentioned above. Other US and International racetracks now have their content available for FO betting in NJ………So now we have progress, its just taking a lot longer than expected.

Once FO is approved in other States, smaller Racetracks could follow Monmouths FO model for on-track and online wagering and maybe even offer sports betting as well……..then their would be no need to partner with Sportsbook operators……….But Casinos would be a whole new ballgame.
Thanks Reg. That makes sense.

So the strategy changed from supplying Sportsbook operators with FO (e.g. Pointsbet) to supplying racetracks themselves (e.g. Monmouth park/Derby Developments), due to resistance from the ‘establishment’?

… but why are we trying to second guess what’s going on and why the 2020 Pointsbet agreement hasn’t progressed? Shouldn’t BET tell us?!

I would suggest research the global racing network, as Monmouth gave us a chance the focus is getting them up and running with on track and online. The more partner tracks we have the more races that are streamed and

i don’t think there is any second guessing- as Reg said it has taken longer than we thought to get fixed odds up and running. BETs priority is to get the Monmouth partnership running smoothly as Dennis Drazin is the one that took the risk in partnering with BET. Management would be well aware the Pointsbet agreement is there and when they have everything in place it will progress.

Cheers ScottBET.

But my point is that the Pointsbet agreement can’t progress, because the regulators have only approved one operator (Monmouth Park/ Derby Developments - see below)

Incidentally, I’m not sure how risky the BET agreement was for Monmouth given BET’s sponsorship of races and payment guarantees.

This may help, as long as you have agreement with race tracks, horseman’s groups and the commision you can get more ADW’s as long as you can agree on shared revenue. This is what BET and Drazin have been working on. Noting the above article is 12 months old.

In the article posted on HC it has this:
According to Monmouth Park Chairman and CEO Dennis Drazin, all NJ sportsbooks that reach agreements with BetMakers to offer fixed-odds betting on races pay a 4% fee on wagering turnover.
